Gastroenterologist
Dr. Stephenson Thomas’s love for medicine was evident by age 10, and by the time she finished high school she had volunteered 1,000 hours as a candy striper in her hometown of Willingboro, New Jersey. Her extensive education in medical and health sciences includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Health and Medical Services.
Following an internal medicine residency, Dr. Stephenson Thomas completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine and was granted an award for her research in geriatric gastroenterology. She decided to further pursue gastroenterology with a fellowship at Midwestern University in Chicago – a decision that was reinforced when she lost her father to stomach cancer in 2009. As a physician, she strives to provide great care and form trusting relationships with her patients.
Dr. Stephenson Thomas believes life balance is important, and in her spare time she enjoys volunteering in her community and spending time with family, including her nieces and nephews. Her personal interests include scuba diving, snowboarding, biking, and cooking.
